American Girl’s New Historical Character: Caroline Abbot from 1812.

By on 10-04-2012 in American Girl

One month ago, American Girl released a new historical doll; Caroline Abbot! Her time period is 1812, and she is from Sackets Harbor, New York, on the shores of Lake Ontario.

(I got this picture from American Girl’s Facebook page)

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, which is why I think AG decided to make a doll from this specific time period.  I think it was a smart move for AG to create a doll/character from 1812, because the War of 1812 is/was a very significant event for both Americans and Canadians (from the research I’ve gathered).

As for the doll, I think AG did a great job! Personally, I think Caroline is a very pretty doll, and I especially like her Meet Outfit. Her accessories/outfits/furniture are pretty awesome, and they remind me of the quality that the Pleasant Company items had. (FUN FACT: Caroline’s cat, Inkpot, looks JUST LIKE one of my cats, Bootsie!)

What do you think of the new historical character?
